We carried out extensive surface preparation works to remove the existing vinyl flooring on the staircases including the landings and carried out minor repairs required within the substrate.
We applied Contar Dekor Broadcast system (MMA resin floor coating incorporating decorative coloured flakes) to the stairwells comprising of stairs & landings. We installed Gradus nosing profile AK5A with a standard non-slip insert all in accordance with BS & DDA requirements within social housing. We were instructed to highlight the top and bottom stairs on each flight using a yellow anti-slip insert with grey anti-slip inserts for all stairs in between.
We allowed for the following considerations:
- Setting up of safe working areas within a public area
- Strict controls within social housing meant noise levels i.e. use of plant/machinery had to be kept to a minimum and restricted to certain times of the day
- Our fast cure materials ensured that access restriction was minimal therefore less disruption and inconvenience to residents/tenants within the block.
